Victoria College Jersey Congratulations
We were pleased to accommodate Victoria College’s first XI football team last week. 14 students and 2 teachers arrived at Gatwick from Jersey on 24/11/10 and went straight off to play there first game against Charterhouse. They returned victorious having won 4- 1. Their winning streak continued on Friday with victory against Eton.
Regrettably, their next fixture was cancelled due to bad weather but they enjoyed a good day in London. As we weren’t expecting them to stay on Saturday night it was a real squeeze with our existing bookings and Mr Murfin lost his room! He was accommodated nearby.
Our housekeeping staff were dreading a ‘full house’ of students but were charmed by their lovely manners and intrigued by the fines system which keeps them on their toes. Gillian and Karen are keen to start the same system on their offspring!
Departure day bought some uncertainly as flights to Jersey from Gatwick were disrupted due to bad weather in Jersey. We trust they got home quickly and look forward to seeing more success for VCJ first football XI.
